Margaret Anne Hume presented book talks on her recent biography, Just Mary: The Life of Mary Evelyn Grannan, at libraries in Moncton, Saint John, Victoria, and Winnipeg in April and May, as well as making a presentation at the McNally Robinson Bookstore at Grant Park in Winnipeg.
Agatha Moir interviewed Margaret about the book on The Weekend Morning Show on CBC Radio One, Winnipeg, on May 5, and the Moncton Times and Transcript reviewed the book on April 14.
Some Past Readings and Appearances
May 2007: in Winnipeg, she read at at the Millennium Library of the Winnipeg Public Library on May 2, and at the Grant Park location of McNally Robinson Booksellers.
April 2007: Margaret was in New Brunswick, and read at the Moncton Public Library on April 5 and the Saint John Free Public Library on April 12. She also read in Victoria BC at the Greater Victoria Public Library on April 19.
May 31, 2006: read at the Central branch of the Pointe-Claire Public Library on Wednesday afternoon.
May 3, 2006: read at the Vancouver Public Library. The program also featured a dramatization a radio play from the "Just Mary" Reader, edited by Hume.
March 3, 2006: Margaret spoke to the Writers' Table about the research and writing involved in the preparation of a biography at the Arts and Letters Club of Toronto.
February 24, 2006: Margaret read from "Just Mary": The Life of Mary Evelyn Grannan at the Cameron House, 408 Queen Street West, Toronto.
February 11, 2006: "Just Mary": The Life of Mary Evelyn Grannan and the "Just Mary" Reader: Mary Grannan, Selected Stories. were launched in Fredericton, N.B, on the 106th anniversary of the birth of Mary Grannan.
February 9, 2006: Margaret talked to Grade Three students at the Nashwaaksis Public-School Library in Fredericton.
February 8, 2006: Margaret read from "Just Mary" Reader at the Fredericton Public Library during the Mary Grannan Celebration.
