Jan Furst
Author of Semi-Historical and Futuristic Fantasy
Welcome to the Author's Website
Since Jan was a boy, his main "physical" interests have been related to the sea "and all that sails on it." He went on to building kayaks, later to university for an education in shipbuilding and marine engineering, then to working in shipyards in Norway and Canada.
Later Jan ran his own consulting business, catering to the marine industries, until in retirement he went back to kayak and model-ship building.
Norse Sagas & Medieval European History
His intellectual interests have been in history, especially related to the Norse sagas and medieval European history.
Native of Norway, Living in Canada
A native of Norway, Jan has lived the first half of his life in that country, then as a landed immigrant in Canada, with time divided evenly between Ontario, Newfoundland and BC. Jan has worked on all the five continents, including two years in Indonesia.
He been a member of the Vancouver branch of CAA since 2000 when, after a 70-year break, he resumed writing for publication.
