But the "Black Death" had now entered Europe, and spread like wildfire. Some people were spared, but at least every fourth person died. Rumores about the plague ran ahead of it, like heralds announcing bad news in the marketplace of the cities. She had a long journey behind her:

First by shuttle from her own planet, to Haley's Comet, as it was called by the earthlings. Then the long haul on the Comet itself using the shuttle as a dwelling. Then by the shuttle from the Comet to planet Earth. She was invited by the King of planet Earth to a conference. The king made all the arrangements and provided the Shuttle and all else needed for the travel. The trip had taken 25 years and 4 months, she had never been bored or suffered any inconveniences on the trip in spite of the fact that she was traveling alone. The King of Earth had explicitly demanded that she come unescorted. In spite of the fact that there was no crew on the shuttle and no other passengers. She had never lacked anything, all she needed and wanted in way of food, drink, entertainment and exercise. During her years on the shuttle, including the time it was parked on Haley's Comet she had learned all she needed to know about planet Earth in preparation for her meeting with the King. She had also learned one of the major languages used there.
