Mary P. Brooke, B.Sc., Cert PR of Brookeline Publishing House Inc. passionately conceptualizes, assembles, edits, formats, print-manages and publishes books for Canadian authors. Working primarily in non-fiction, she has produced a wide range of manuscripts including a parenting guide, a dementia caregiver's guide, a woman's autobiography of growing up in rural Alberta, the 40-year career memoir of an energy utility corporate executive, and an in-depth examination of the Book of Revelation. She has also coordinated the print production of a science fiction anthology. She is working on her own book about coincidence.
Mary's passion is to bring truth to paper (and website) with the thrust of 'plain English', or more effectively, 'high retention readability.' She achieves this with attention to all aspects of a publication including in-depth editing, target audience orientation, layout and design, cover creation, print management and marketing considerations.
Now the publisher of her own quarterly news magazine and daily online news website in Sooke, BC, Ms. Brooke manages a team of creative specialists to provide good reading through quality publications.
Mary Brooke started the MapleLine Journalism Program in 2009 to provide Canadian Press Style training and writing career support and will launch a writers workshop for health professionals in Fall 2010. She heads up the Sooke Literary Association.
