Lois Peterson

Lois Peterson's literary short stories, articles and essays were published internationally for more than 20 years before she started writing for children in 2007.

Her first children's novel Meeting Miss 405 (Young Reader, Orca Book Publishers 2008) has been nominated for awards in BC, Saskatchewan and Ontario. Her second Young Reader, The Ballad of Knuckles McGraw, is scheduled for April 2010 publication, with a midgrade novel Silver Rain coming out October 2010 — both also from Orca.

An informative and entertaining presenter and engaging storyteller, Lois has taught business and creative writing workshops for organizations such as the Surrey International Writer's Conference, The Nakusp Spirit of Writing Festival, The Fraser Valley Regional Library, Vancouver Island Regional Library, Port Moody Library, the CAA, the Federation of BC Writers, and the Editor's Association of Canada.

She's the author of 101 and More Writing Exercises to Get You Started & Keep You Going (Pub. Metta Publications) and runs the Surrey Writers' School.
