Before becoming a novelist, Carol Mason worked in advertising as a copywriter, and before that had a misguided career path, while she was trying to figure out what she wanted to do.
Writing novels was always something she kept coming back to but she didn't think it seemed like the kind of real job that people actually did. Unsatisfied writing about jam and laser eye surgery, Carol decided it was now or never.
But getting published took massive determination in the face of enough rejection letters to wallpaper her house. She had three unpublished books before her agent finally sold her first novel, The Secrets of Married Women, to Hodder & Stoughton in the UK. The book got excellent reviews in the British press, and her second, Send Me a Lover, came out a year later in December 2008. Both were bestsellers in Canada.
Her books are translated into nine languages and are available in thirteen countries. Her third novel, The Love Market, was released in February.
She is British born but lives in Surrey BC with her husband.
